The Secure Remote Payment Council (SRPc) was recently formed to work to keep debit transactions on the web and mobile commerce secure. Membership in the SRPc is open to any entity that does business in the eCommerce and mobile payments.

FS-ISAC Plans Nationwide Cyber Attack Exercise
The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) will conduct Cyber Attack Against Payment Processes (CAPP), an exercise to measure the ability of financial institutions, payment processors, businesses and retailers to respond and recover from major cyber incidents. The national simulation exercise, slated for February 9-11 2010, will be a virtual tabletop exercise to raise awareness, evaluate responses rates and look for ways to improve in the case of a real attack.

Heartland’s Carr Testifies in front of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs
Bob Carr, Heartland chairman and chief executive officer, was invited to testify before the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on Monday, September 14, 2009. At the hearing titled “Cyber Attacks: Protecting Industry Against Growing Threats,” Carr shared information about Heartland’s efforts to secure cardholder and payment account information through new technology innovation. He also discussed ongoing industry collaboration and information sharing. Watch his testimony, beginning at the 37:00 mark.
